Subject: Support of Resolution 568-16
Dear Council Members: I appreciate this opportunity to submit my testimony in strong support of a
local CEDAW for Hawaii Island—Resolution 568-16.Passage of CEDAW in Hawai'i County is important for
women and girls in Hawai'i County and will mitigate gender violence, and improve gender health and economic
equity. Many US cities have passed similar bills, and it would be important to see Hawai'i County join in such a
measure.
Passage of Resolution 568-16 is an important step toward improved human rights for women in Hawai'i County and
ultimately, for the nation. Please pass this Resolution which would positively impact your constituents. Mahalo for
the opportunity to submit this testimony.
