We commend Margaret Wille for introducing this bill and strongly support it. It offers an approach that can help
us avoid many costly and damaging mistakes. Many universities, colleges, and local governments consider
sustainability so important that they have an Office of Sustainability. Such an office would be an excellent
follow-up to this bill. For now,we ask Council to support this bill, and give the Planning Department adequate
funding to implement it.
