A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PURCHASE A KILN FOR THE SENIOR
CITIZENS CERAMIC CLASS AT THE NA`ALEHU COMMUNITY CENTER.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation serves older adults in recreation,
educational, health-related and cultural classes, such as the Senior Citizens Ceramics Class
operating out of the Na`alehu Community Center; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Elderly Activities Division, has
identified the need for funds to assist with the purchase of a new kiln with the necessary
attachments for the Na`alehu Senior Citizens Ceramic Class, located at the Na`alehu Community
Center; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Elderly Activities Division, is
wishing to replace the 20 plus year old kiln, which has been repaired several times at the
Na`alehu Community Center; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation, Elderly Activities Division, to assist with the purchase of a new kiln with
the necessary attachments for the Na`alehu Community Center.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Council hereby transfers/appropriates
the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
