OOJ�t!/ OF M1�' �y 7 COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII t1,tf OF'N'�' RESOLUTION NO. 20 16 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE DANIEL R. SAYRE MEMORIAL FOUNDATION TO ASSIST WITH RESTORATION EXPENSES FOR THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT'S FRONT LINE RADON RESCUE BOAT. WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to raising funds to assist the Hawaii Fire Department with providing fire protection and suppression, pre -hospital emergency medical services, land and sea search and rescue, hazardous materials response, ocean safety, fire prevention, and public education for the County of Hawaii; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department has expressed the need to refurbish its front line Radon rescue boat, which is primarily used for all water rescues and dive operations, in order to protect the electrical components and to make rescue and dive operations safer for the victim and fire personnel; and WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation has already raised the majority of the funds needed for the repairs, but is requesting assistance to cover the remaining balance; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Hawaii Fire Department to provide a grant to the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation to assist with restoration expenses for the Hawaii Fire Department's front line Radon rescue boat. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
