RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF
SUPPLIES, EQUIPMENT AND EQUIPMENT REPAIR FOR USE BY THE
HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT'S RESCUE AND OCEAN SAFETY
PROGRAMS
WHEREAS, the Daniel Sayre Memorial Foundation is donating supplies, equipment
and equipment repair to the Hawai'i Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, this donation consists of the following:

and
WHEREAS, this donation, with a total value of $ 81,308.30, will be used by the
Hawai'i Fire Department's Rescue and Ocean Safety programs; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the
Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30,
Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations of money,
securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the
Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this
donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter 2,
Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of
Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Laura Mallery-Sayre, Daniel Sayre Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box
1285, Kailua-Kona, HI 96745, acknowledging this generous donation.
