This appointment was effective at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 5, 2016. <br /> Mr. DeMarco, a registered Professional Engineer, has over thirty years of experience as an engineer <br /> and program management professional. He has held the position of Engineer IV at the County of <br /> Hawai'i's Department of Public Works for seven years and served as the Director for the Department <br /> of Environmental Management from 2010 — 2011. Mr. DeMarco obtained a degree in Environmental <br /> Engineering from Humboldt State University in 1976 and a BS Construction Engineering Degree from <br /> the California Polytechnic State University in 1979. His resume is attached for your information. <br /> Mr. DeMarco will serve a term co-terminus with my tenure, which will end on December 7, 2020. <br /> Pursuant to Rule 5(6)(g) of the Rules of Procedure and Organization of the Council of the County of <br /> Hawai'i, we respectfully request a waiver of this nomination through committee so that it may be <br /> considered by the full County Council on January 5, 2017.
