SUJBECT: CONSUMER CONFIDENCE REPORT
COUNCIL BRIEFING
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a mandate, to all public water systems,
which require us to send a Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) to every one of our
consumers. The report must include where our consumer's water comes from and the level
of identified contaminants in the water. Our intent is to mail the CCRs during August 1999.
EPA's deadline is October 19, 1999.
We expect that the CCR will generate a lot of concern and questions from residents in the
county. We have therefore scheduled a public relations program to inform and educate our
consumers of the intent, purpose, and content of the CCR.
Since questions may also be addressed to individual councilmembers, we would also like to
present a short briefing for the council regarding the upcoming CCR. During this briefing,
we will have our MicroLab personnel do a short presentation and answer any questions that
you may have.
