RE: William Silva et al., v. County of Hawaii, et al., Civil No. 97-622 (Hilo)
Request for Executive Session
Dear Chairperson Arakaki and Council Members:
The Office of the Corporation Counsel requests the opportunity of meeting with the Council in
Executive Session in its next meeting scheduled for September 9, 1999. The attorneys
representing the County and co-defendant Chief of Police Wayne G. Carvalho would like to
advise and update the Council on the status of the above entitled case and discuss their trial
preparation. As you know, the trial is presently scheduled to begin on September 27, 1999. The
attorneys for the County and other named co-defendants are preparing for trial. Accordingly, any
courtesy you could extend to them in scheduling a specific time to appear before the Council
would be greatly appreciated.
