RE: William Silva et al., v. County of Hawaii, et al., Civil No. 97-622 (Hilo)
Request for Executive Session
Dear Chairperson Arakaki and Council Members:
The Office of the Corporation Counsel requests the opportunity of meeting with the Council in
Executive Session in its next meeting scheduled For October 14, 1999. The attorneys
representing the County and co-defendant Chief of Police Wayne G. Carvalho would like to
advise and update the Council on the status of the above entitled case and discuss a proposal to
streamline the trial. As you know, the trial is presently ongoing in Judge Amano's courtroom.
Accordingly, any courtesy you could extend to them in scheduling a specific time to appear
before the Council would be greatly appreciated.
