Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 195, by Mayor Stephen K.
Yamashiro, per Communication No. 701, dated January 29, 1998. regarding the Planning
Director initiated General Plan amendment procedures, reports as follows:
Bill No. 195 amends Section 6 of Ordinance No. 89-142, as amended by Ordinance No. 90-71, to
clarify the amendment procedures of the General Plan, and to ensure the procedures are
consistent with the County Charter.
Bill No. 195 was originally agendized on March 5, 1998, but was deferred so the Planning
Department could prepare a comparison chart of the proposed changes with the existing
language. Because the comparison information was never received by Your Committee, and the
General Plan hearings process initiated, Your Committee is recommending that Bill No. 195 be
filed.
Your Committee did not entertain any discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Planning recommends that Bill No. 195 be filed.
