Chair Kanuha and Members:
Thank you for this opportunity to testify regarding the confirmation of Joseph Kamelamela to
the position of Corporation Counsel of the County of Hawaii. I strongly recommend the confirmation of
Joseph Kamelamela. He is a very experienced litigator, with a reputation for being honest,courteous,
even-tempered and a good team player. As a former supervising Deputy Corporation Counsel for many
years, he represented the County of Hawaii in numerous civil law suits. Joseph Kamelamela was very
focused on his work and would put in long hours preparing for hearings and trials.
I met Joseph Kamelamela while I was employed as a Supervising Deputy Corporation with the
County of Hawaii. As supervisors, I interacted often with Joseph Kamelamela. I was impressed with his
dedication to his work and appreciated that he was willing to share his expertise with others in the
office.
Please confirm Joseph Kamelamela to the position of Corporation Counsel of the County of
Hawaii.
