ADMINISTRATIVE MANUAL — OFFICE OF THE CORPORATION COUNSEL Chapter 1: OVERVIEW Section 1.01 Corporation Counsel Perspective The Office of the Corporation Counsel is the legal advisor and legal representative for the County, and all County officers and employees in matters related to their official powers and duties. The Corporation Counsel represents the County in all civil legal proceedings and performs all other services incident to the office as may be required by law. The Corporation Counsel is prohibited from representing any elected officer in impeachment proceedings. We are committed to providing the very best pro-active legal support and legal representation for all County officers and employees. We measure our success through client satisfaction and positive results which protect our County. Our mission is to provide the answers to the County's challenges with professionalism and integrity. Our core values of Teamwork, Accountability, Professionalism, Progress, and Service are common to all our employees, and serve as a reminder of the vision, mission, and responsibility of our office. This Administrative Manual provides an overview of the administrative rules and policies applicable to our employees. Many provisions are taken verbatim from current collective bargaining agreements, departmental administrative rules, and executive orders. To the extent there is any conflict with any collective bargaining agreement, departmental administrative rule, and/or executive order, the collective bargaining agreement, departmental administrative rule, and/or executive order shall control.
