Re: Confirmation of Joseph K. Kamelamela
as Corporation Counsel
Dear Chairperson Kanuha:
This letter is in support of Joseph K. Kamelamela being
confirmed as the Corporation Counsel for the County of Hawai 'i.
Mr. Kamelamela has the skills, experience, and integrity to be
the Corporation Counsel. His dedication and work ethic is
exemplary, and he thrives and welcomes the most difficult of
legal challenges and battles, always with the county' s best
interest in mind.
I am currently the Labor Relations Division Manager with the
Department of Human Resources . During my previous tenure as a
Deputy Corporation Counsel for eleven years, Mr. Kamelamela was
my labor litigation supervisor for eight years . He was always a
fair, supportive and encouraging supervisor, whose vast
knowledge and experience was always helpful.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide this input in support
of Mr. Kamelamela as Corporation Counsel . Our county will be
well served with him at the helm of the county' s legal office.
