RESOLUTION NO. 47 17
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION
OF A LICENSE FOR GIS APPLICATION SOFTWARE FOR USE BY
THE MAYOR'S OFFICE
WHEREAS, an anonymous individual owns and is willing to donate a
single-user license for an ESRI ArcGIS Desktop Basic to the County of Hawaii for
use by the Mayor's Office; and
WHEREAS, the estimated value of this donation is approximately $1,500
and will be utilized by the Mayor's Office to access, view, edit, and analyze the
County's GIS data for various planning and project purposes; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter
provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of
money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real
estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code
states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which
fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be
accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Mayor's Office recommends the
acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of
the County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
