"� 1- A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAII ISLAND UNITED WAY FOR THE PURCHASE OF MATERIAL AND SUPPLIES FOR ITS COMMUNITY OUTREACH INITIATIVE. WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Island United Way ("HIUW") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that invests in Hawai`i Island to build stronger and healthier communities; and WHEREAS, HIUW partners with 38 agencies and 48 community programs by supporting local community organization focusing on health and wellness efforts related to substance use and abuse prevention; and WHEREAS, HIUW and partners reached over 75% of Hawai`i Island as a result of community outreach initiative; and WHEREAS, HIUW is requesting funds to help cover expenses for the purchase of materials and supplies for its community outreach initiative; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control's goals are to support programs and organizations that promote a healthy and safe environment to benefit those in the community; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-19(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Hawai`i Island United Way to assist with expenses for materials and supplies for its community outreach initiative; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
