SUBJECT: Briefing by Charmaine Kamaka, Hawai'i County Director of Parks and Recreation
I am respectfully requesting an hour of time for a briefing by Charmaine Kamaka, Director of
Parks and Recreation, on the February 7,2017 Committee meeting scheduled in Hilo. This will
give the committee and the public an opportunity to hear about the major departmental projects
underway, and those proposed, around the island. Director Kamaka will provide a perspective on
what is currently going well for the department and its strong points. She will also give a
perspective on what the department's current challenges and needs are.
Please place this on the appropriate Committee agenda.
Thirty minutes should be allowed for the briefing and thirty minutes for questions and answers.
