ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3 , PART III, .. SECTION 3 . 1 ,
HAWAII COUNTY CODE, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO NOTICES AND
ADVERTISEMENTS ON COUNTY OWNED OR CONTROLLED LANDS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII :
SECTION 1. Chapter 3 , Part III, Section 3 . 1 of the
Hawaii County Code, as amended, is further amended as follows :
"SEC. 3 .1 ADVERTISEMENTS
Commercial noticesor advertisements shall not be
displayed, posted, or distributed on County owned or
controlled lands within a park area unless prior written
permission has been given by the Director. Such
permission may be granted only if the notice or
advertisement is [of goods , services , or facilities
available within the park area and such notices and
advertisements are] found by the Director to be
[desirable and necessary] for the [convenience and
guidance] benefit of the public. "
SECTION 2. Material to be repealed is bracketed. New
material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the
brackets , bracketed material, and underscoring need not be
included.
SECTION 3. If any provision of this ordinance or the
application thereof to any person or circumstances is held
invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions
or applications of the ordinance which can be given effect
