The following are the recommendations of the Planning,
Economic Development and Legislative Committee which were
considered at its meeting of April 9, 1969:

• Approve request to amend the
Salary Ordinance.
- i 170: Sparky Niimi, Chairman, Hawaii County Committee,
Democratic Party of Hawaii
Transmits a resolution which was adopted by the
County Committee of the Democratic Party to commend
and support our Democrats in Congress in their
opposition of an ABM missile system and hopes that
the County Council will adopt a similar resolution:
Recommends that the Council
support the resolution. •
No . 176: Stanley H. Roehrig, State Representative, 2nd District
Endorses Resolution No . 60 adopted by the Hawaii'
County Council which favors the adoption of measures
to provide adequate housing facilities for the teachers
of the rural schools of the County of Hawaii.
Transmits a copy of House Bill No . 358, which relates
to teachers ' housing. The bill calls for the creation
of a special fund called the "Teachers ' Housing
Revolving Fund, " which may be used by. the Hawaiian
Housing Authority for any and all of the purposes of
teachers ' housing:

RECOMMENDATION
p ,., No . 1 : Recommends that the Council oppose Mayor Fasi' s pro-
posed bills (House Bill Nos. 814 and 1021 and Senate,
Bill Nos. 774 and 961) that real property taxes be
apportioned according to actual cost until such time
that it would be economically beneficial to the County
of Hawaii.

A M E N D M E N T
.&- COMM. 170: Sparky Niimi, Chairman, Hawaii County Committee,
Democratic Party of Hawaii -
Transmits a resolution which was adopted by the County
Committee of the Democratic Party to commend and
support our Democrats in Congress in their opposition

to draw up a resolution for consideration
