Alvey Wright, State Dept . of Transportation Re: General Lyman Field Master Plan (Bill 572/ PEDLC-5) Informs that the Master Plan Report is expected to be finalized within three weeks at which time the Report will be formally adopted by the Department of Transportation. Urge careful consideration of any zoning ordinance in the vicinity of General Lyman Field as any develop- ment which would not be compatible to airport operations would only inhibit the growth of this important facility: 204.1: Planning Director Re: C-204 General Lyman Field Master Plan Submits comments on the above report : Accept the recommendation to maintain the area as low density and low rise. ,6w No. 363 : George K. Young, Chairman, Motor Vehicle Dealers Licensing Board Transmits for the Council's approval Rules of Practice and Procedure of the Motor Vehicle Dealers Licensing Board: Recommends approval of the Rules of Practice and Procedure of the Motor Vehicle Dealers Licensing Board. No. 367: John T. Freitas, Vice Chairman, Planning Commission Re: Street Name for Charles Chong Man Subdivision, Kaumana, South Hilo, Hawaii Recommends adoption of the resolution to legally name the street "Lawelawe Circle" which means to serve, work for, minister to, attend to, do and perform: Recommends adoption of the resolution. No. 36$: John T. Freitas, Vice Chairman, Planning Commission Re: Street Name for Correia Subdivision, Kaao Homesteads, Hamakua, Hawaii Recommends adoption of the resolution to legally name the street "Wailana Place" which means calm, quiet, as the sea and still water: Recommends adoption of the resolution. Freitas, Vice Chairman, Planning Commission Re: Street Names for Kona Hillcrest Subdivision, Waiaha 2nd, North Kona, Hawaii Recommends the adoption of the resolution to legally name the following streets for the proposed Kona Hillcrest Subdivision roads before dedication: "Oni Oni Street" - meaning extending hill "Pumehana Street" - meaning warm, warm-hearted "Iliaina Street" . - meaning land inheritance "Lelehuna Street" - meaning fine, wind-blown rain spray, dust, mist "Pamalo Place" - meaning dry, rainless "Pumehana Place" - meaning warm, warm-hearted "Pumehana Way" Recommends adoption of the resolution. i ® • PEDLC Rep. 13 - 3 — Aug. 5, 1969 4c, No. 375 : William Reich, Acting Secretary, Hawaii County Table Grape Boycott Committee Informs that the State Legislature and the county councils of Kauai and Maui and the city council of Honolulu have endorsed the table grape boycott. Asks that the County Council reconsider the resolution which was recently tabled to make it a unanimous endorsement : Received and file. b_ac ,,n1 . No. 382: Kathryn Beveridge, 338 Kauila Street, Hilo Congratulates the Council for their action to table the grape-boycott resolutions and recommends that the Council members work on problems of this county: Received and file. No. 390: June S. Lewis Transmits a newspaper clipping which is pertinent to the present "grape boycott" : Received and file. No. 4.12: Governor Burns Informs that a report on Resolution No. 96 by the State of Hawaii Insurance Commissioner Edwin H. Honda concurs that the increased premiums and dues are necessary in order for the commercial insurers and HMSA to meet their contractual obligations in terms of rising costs. Feels that the request for the appointment of a committee to study and report on accident and health insurance premium rates charged by insurers in Hawaii must be deferred until it is certain that it could be conducted in an orderly and meaningful way: Received and file. RESOLUTION No. 130: Resolution Approving and Providing for the Execution of a Contract for Grant to Acquire And/Or Develo Land For Open-Space Purposes No. Hawaii OSA-20 (G) by and between the County of Hawaii and the United States of America: COMMUNICATION : Cr No. 415: Mayor Re: Resolution for Open-Space Grant Contract Request Council's early consideration and adoption of the subject resolution which authorizes the Department of Parks and Recreation to enter into contract with HUD for an Open-Space Grant of $221,000 which will be used for land acquisition in the Kaimu Beach Park development . This grant will be matched by the County: Recommends adoption of the resolution. ittu, y'«.
