HomeMy WebLinkAboutREP PEDLC 028 04/16/1970 1969-1972 • _ • PLANNING, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE REPORT NO 28 Councilmen County of Hawaii Hilo, Hawaii The following are the recommendations of the Planning, Economic Development and Legislative Committee which were considered at its meeting of April 16, 1970: COMMUN ICAT IONS No. 635.7: Council Chairman Submits for information a copy of a letter to Governor Burns from Mayor Kimura regarding Resolution No. 201 in which the County Council has granted a loan of $200,000 to the County Department of Water Supply in order that they may vacate the premises at Hualalai and Kinoole Street: Received and file. No . 753.4: Governor Burns Re: Resolution No . 209 Thanks the Council for Resolution No . 209 supporting the establishment of a Hawaii office at the World Trade Center in New York. Informs that the Counties of Maui and Honolulu have also taken official action in support of this project and expects Kauai to follow suit: Received and file. �No . 795.1: D. C. Davis, Rear Admiral, U. S. Navy, Commandant, Fourteenth Naval District Acknowledges receipt of Resolution No . 213, Informs that he is presently investigating the possibility of accomplishing aircraft bombing practice on other established target ranges in the Hawaiian area and have suspended all inert bombing operations at Kauna Point range pending an investigation into reports of recent findings of possible historical significance in the area: Received and file and thank the Admiral for his consideration. Okano Waiakea, South Hilo , Hawaii (TMK: 2-2-23:21 & 27) Recommends approval of proposed Bill No. 700 to change the district classification from Office Commercial (CO-20) and Double Family Residential (RD-3.75) to General Commercial (CG-7.5) in Waiakea, South Hilo : Recommends passage of Bill No . 700 on first reading. - No . 813: Anthony C. Veriato , Chairman, Planning Commission Re: Rezoning Request - Liliuokalani Trust Keahuolu, North Kona, Hawaii (TMK: 7-4-08:2) Recommends approval of proposed Bill No . 706 to change the district classification from General Industrial 1 Acre (MG-la) to Village Commercial 10,000 square feet (CV-10) in Keahuolu, North Kona, Hawaii: Recommends passage of Bill No . 706 on first reading. RECOMMENDATION Recommends that Resolution No. 2 be amended as follows: RULES OF PROCEDURE OF THE COUNCIL OF TEE COUNTY OF HAWAII Rule 1 MEETINGS 1.
