The following are the recommendations of the Planning,
Economic Development and Legislative Committee which were
considered at its meeting of July 8, 1970:
COMMUNICATIONS
No. 901: Kwai Wah Lee, President, Keaukaha/Panaewa Community Assoc.
Submits a resolution requesting that "Hawaii County under-
take to inform the overseas and inter-island airlines
of the noise and vibration resulting from their jet
airplanes and that the County do an instrumentation
study on this problem:
901.1: Terence T. Yoshioka, Deputy Corporation Counsel
Re: C-901 - Noise Pollution and Vibration
Transmits as requested a resolution requesting the
State Department of Transportation to review the
resolution of the Keaukaha/Panaewa Community Association
relating to the noise and vibration from jet aircraft
activity at General Lyman Airfield:
Recommends Resolution No. 263
be revised to include the State
Department of Health; and the
resolution be adopted as revised.

Transmits for information and consideration a copy of
Act 77 (SB 1836) , relating to the Progressive Neighbor-
hoods Program and a copy of Act 55 (HB 1028) , relating
to the Creation of a Board of Appeals for Housing
Matters, and a copy of Act 57 (HB 1687) , relating to
Exemption of Crop Shelters from Real Property Taxation:

(Request the Legislative Auditor
to look into Act 55 and report
back to this committee.)

Reports that after an investigation by the Advisory
Committee on Geographic Names it appeared most suitable
that the New West Hawaii airport be named as "Ke-ahole
Airport. "
