The following are the recommendations of the Planning,
Economic Development and Legislative Committee which were
considered at its meeting of October 1, 1970:
Comm. 858.7: EGG PRODUCTS INSPECTION ACT
Council Chairman submits a copy of the testimony
by U. S. Representative Patsy T. Mink before the
Subcommittee on Dairy and Poultry of the House
Committee on Agriculture on S. 2116, on September 14,
1970, requesting an amendment to exclude noncontiguous
states from Section 23(b) (2) :
858.8: Council Chairman submits a copy of a letter from
U. S. Representative Spark M. Matsunaga to the
Chairman of the Subcommittee on Dairy and Poultry,
proposing an amendment to permit Hawaii to continue
its present labeling practice:

Comm. 1025: WATER: FLUORIDATION
Mrs. Frances Lincoln, President, Kona Health Hui,
requests information whether water fluoridation is
being considered by the County Council:
Recommends that . a letter be
- sent to Mrs. Frances Lincoln
notifying her that this subject
is not under consideration by
the County Council at the
present time.
Comm. 1040: SISTER-CITY RELATIONSHIP
Mayor submits a request to establish a sister-city
relationship between the County of Hualien and the
County of Hawaii:
Refer to the ad-hoc committee
on sister-city relationship.

Changing the District Classification from
Open (0) to Single Family Residential (RS-20)
in Olaa Summer Lots, Olaa, Puna (TMK: 1-9-13:2,
3 and portion of 7)
Recommend passage of Bill 738
on first reading and a letter
be sent to the Department of
Land and Natural Resources
showing Council ' s concern in
their selling property that does
not qualify under our s�ibXdiv-lion Q
ordinance.
REC OMMENDAT ION
Request the Department of Research and Development
along with the Parks and Recreation Department
to submit cost estimates for the subsidizing of

AMENDMENT
COMM. 1025: WATER FLUORIDATION
Mrs. Frances Lincoln, President, Kona Health Hui, requests
information whether water fluoridation is being considered by
the County Council:
Recommends that a letter be sent to
Mrs. Frances Lincoln notifying her that
this subject is not under consideration
by the County Council at the present
time, and suggest that she pursue this
matter with the Department of Water Supply.

recommendation of its Planning, Economic Development and Legislative
Committee:
