The following are the recommendations of the Planning,
Economic Development and Legislative Committee which were
considered at its meeting of October 15, 1970:

Comm. 934.1: SITE FOR KONA BASEYARD
Chas. L. Schuster, District Engineer, State Department
of Transportation, informs that the remnant of the
Keauhou Rubbish Dump lot makai of Kuakini Highway was
considered for their Kona baseyard but the site was
rejected as unsuitable and undesirable because of the
shape of the lot and the extensive and expensive
grading that would be required to make the area usable:
Receive and file Communication
934.1 and request the State
Department of Transportation to
leave the Keauhou School site
as a playground facility for the
Kona area. Also , request the
Planning Department to submit
recommendations for suitable
alternate sites for the Kona
baseyard.
Bill 743: REZONING - D ILLINGHAM KONA DEVELOPMENT CO. , INC.
Amending Section 7.02, the North Kona Zone Map,
Ordinance No . 63.
Changing the district classification from
Agricultural 1—Acre (A—la) to Village
Commercial 10,000 square feet (CV-10) in
Holualoa 1st and 2nd, North Kona, Hawaii.

Approve and recommend passage
of Bill 743 on first reading.
