The following are the recommendations of the Planning,
Economic Development and Legislative Committee which were
considered at its meeting_ of November 12, 1970:
COMMUNICATIONS

Clara. K. Kahumoku, . Manager, Kona Chamber of Commerce,
expresses. gratitude- for lowering the height limits
in Kailua and requests that an ordinance be adopted
regarding density, setbacks and open space:

No . 1105 : EXPERIMENTAL AND DEMONSTRATION HOUSING PROJECT
Mayor. urges early .and .favorable- action on the. attached
proposal to develop a housing development under Act 10$ -
Experimental and Demonstration Housing Project :
Approve the requests of the
Mayor to :
(1) Designate that parcel of
land - (map attached) comprising
65 .65 -acres of land in Keauhou,
North Kona, Hawaii, as an area
for experimental and demonstration
housing project under the provi-
sions of Act 10$, SLH 1970; and
(2) Designate Mr. Megumi Kon,
Deputy Managing Director, . as the
official to review all plans and
specifications for the subdivision,
development and improvement of the
land and the construction and sale
•
of homes thereon.

RECOMMENDATION
�. .No . 1: PALANI ROAD - RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT
Request that the Planning Department in giving
approval for development of residential areas
along Palani Road, to consider the widening of
all of Palani Road as each individual project
comes up.
