The following are the recommendations of the Planning,
Economic Development and Legislative Committee which were
considered at its meeting of. April 1, 1971:
Comm. 934.3: BEUHOU SCHOOL SITE FOR A PLAYGROUND FACILITY
(C-934.2/PEDLC-48)
Dr. Fujio Matsuda, Director, State Department of
Transportation advises that their department will
relinquish its prior claim. on the Keauhou School
site, which is under their jurisdiction under
Governor' s Executive Order No. 2261 and requests
the Council to submit a formal application to the
Board of Land and Natural Resources requesting the
set-aside of this property to the County of Hawaii
for playground purposes by executive order. Asks
for continued assistance in locating a replacement
site suitable for baseyard purpose:

Council Chairman submits a letter from Police Chief
Fergerstrom in reply to the matter of, loitering: around
school premises, recommending that a- "no parking"
zone be established on the Puna side of -Puainako Street , '
between' Lokahi Circle and Kanoelani Street. The
Council' s action on this recommendation shouldhelp
to alleviate the loitering problem near the Waiakea
Intermediate School:

HAWAII HOUSING AUTHORITY
