The following are the recommendations of the Planning,
Economic Development and Legislative Committee which were
considered at its meeting of April 15, 1971:
/Comm. 1040.2: SISTER-CITY RELATIONSHIP WITH HUAL IFN, TAIWAN
Councilman James Souza requests PEDLC members to make
every effort to work on an immediate recommendation
for the establishment of a sister-city relationship
with Hualien, Taiwan:

,c, Comm. 1040.3: Josephine R. Yadao , Chairman of the Ad-Hoc Committee
on sister-city relationships, submits the following
recommendations:
Rec. 1 - Prio.ritie:a for establishing sister-city
relationships
Approvein principle.
Rec. 2 - Approval of establishment of sister-city
relationship with Hualien, Taiwan
Rec. 3 - Full committee and Council approval to
continue functioning in order to
accomplish the purposes of reviewing
existing relationships with an eye on
improvements, and also establish criteria
for more meaningful relationships.
Approve.
Comm. 1365: SURE SAVE PURCHASE
Councilman Yamada transmits letters regarding the
subject matter for the Council 's perusal:
