The following are the recommendations of the Planning,
Economic Development and Legislative Committee which were
considered at its meeting of June 9, 1971:
Comm. 1251.2: LOITERING AROUND SCHOOL YKEMISES BY OUTSIDERS
(C-1251/PEDLC-49)
Law Clerk advises that at the present time, Section 727-24,
HRS, is sufficient to handle the problems the schools
may be facing. If the Proposed Hawaii Penal Code is
enacted, other means may be necessary since Section 727-24
would be eliminated by the Code. In that event, enact-
ment of an ordinance containing language comparable to
Section 727-24 may be appropriate:
4u. d. - 1251.3: Law Clerk submits Bill No . 801 establishing a no parking
zone on the Puna side of Puainako Street between Lokahi
Circle and Kanoelani Street : (C-1251.1/PEDLC-51)

Approve and recommend passage
of Bill 801 on first reading.
Request the Legislative Auditor
to review the proposed Hawaii
Penal Code when adopted and
advise whether enactment of an
ordinance containing language
comparable to Section 727-24,
HRS, is necessary. If deemed
necessary, request Legislative
Auditor to prepare a bill for
Council ' s review and considera-
tion.

Deputy Managing Director submits for information, a
copy of a letter from Alvin K. H. Pang, Director, HUD,
