The following are the recommendations of the Planning, Economic Development
and Legislative Committee which were considered at its meeting of August 18, 1971 :
--Comm. 934.5: PLAYGROUND FACILITY - KEAUHOU
Governor John A. Burns advises is compelled to maintain position
that State is willing to relinquish the Keauhou site but it is
necessary that satisfactory relocation of the Department of
Transportation's baseyard be first accomplished and requests
County recommend a suitable site before the end of October 1971 :
Request the administration to look
for an alternate site immediately.
Comm. 1105.2: CHOICE PROJECT
Megumi Kon, Administrator Act .108 Projects, submits report on the
Queen Liliuokalani Village Phase I and recommends that the Council
approve the plans and specifications subject to the conditions
outlined in the report:
Council go on record to approve the
plans subject to the conditions as
,outlined in the report.

• Comm. 1464: PLANNING COMMISSION - RULES AND REGULATIONS
Planning Commission Chairman transmits for approval addendum to
rules and regulations relating to Rule 8 regarding shoreline
setback.
1464.1: Councilman Edwards submits areas of concern and recommendations.
4 d.- 1464.2: Planning Director submits comments on Councilman Edwards' concern:
Approve the addendum to the Rules and
Regulations of the Planning Commission.

Comm. 1505.1 : PUBLIC BUILDINGS - SILFCTION OF SITES
Planning Director submits information regarding the considerations
or standards used by his department for selecting sites for
public buildings:

Comm. 1547: WEST HAWAII - FUNDS FOR ECONOMIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL STUDY
West Hawaii Committee requests $50,000 be appropriated towards
an economic and environmental study of West Hawaii:
Inform the writer that an economic and
environmental study of West Hawaii is
being conducted by the State of Hawaii
and the County feels this study is
adequate.
%. Comm. 1548: LIQUOR COMMISSION - RULES AND REGULATIONS
Director of Department of Liquor Control submits amendments to
the rules and regulations of the Hawaii Liquor Commission for
approval:
Approve the amendments to the Rules and
Regulations of the Hawaii Liquor
Commission.
A-� Comm. 1554: TRAIL-PARK PROPOSAL - KONA AIRPORT TO KEAHOLE AIRPORT
Kona Citizens Planning Council supports trail-park concept and
suggests 200' setback from the beach for all buildings from
the old Kona Airport to Keahole Airport:

the General Plan.
