HomeMy WebLinkAboutREP PEDLC 063 09/30/1971 1969-1972 411 i • PLANNING, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE REPORT NO 63 Councilmen County of Hawaii Hilo, Hawaii The following are the recommendations of the Planning, Economic Development and Legislative Committee which were considered at its meeting of September 30, 1971: COMM. 1617: STREET NAMES FOR KUAK IN I HEIGHTS, UNIT II SUBDIVISION, LAALOA 1st & 2nd, AND KAPAALAEA 1st, NORTH KONA From Planning Commission dated September 20, 1971, recommending adoption of Resolution No . 407 to legally name the following streets: "Ainanani Street" - meaning beautiful land "Koana Way" - meaning space or spacing between rows "Mele Place" - meaning song or chant "Paulina Place" - Pauline "Emalia Place" - Emily Approve and recommend adoption of Resolution No . 407. 4u- COMM. 1626: PRESERVATION OF "KE ALA KO WA'A HEIAU" From Gene F. Wilhelm, District Manager, Hawaii Visitors Bureau, dated September 25, 1971, requesting assistance of the Council in lobbying for the State to acquire the Ke Ala Ko Wa' a Heiau site and develop it into a State Historic Park: Approve request to lobby at State Legislature. • ADOPTED: October 6, 1971 Report No. --«6 3 File No. PE,4e-0 M.
