The following are the recommendations of the Planning, Economic
Development and Legislative Committee which were considered at its meeting
of March 8, 1972: .
COMMUNICATIONS

From Research and Development Director dated February 23,
1972, transmitting copies of the "Interim Report - Kchala
Task Force, February 1972. "

Arr,C- No. 1794. 6: RICHARDSON PROPERTY
From Byron M. Fox, Vice President, The Hawaii Land
Corporation, dated March 6, 1972, advising that in the
event that the County wishes to negotiate for the
purchase of the Richardson property which his company
owns , they would be willing to undertake negotiations
after establishment of ground rules between the County
1 and their company. Believes that it would be appropriate
for the County at this point to indicate to the owners of
the property the time schedule for the negotiations or
condemnation
Request the administration to proceed
under the regular, accepted procedure
for condemnation for public use of the
subject property and other properties
involved in the Keaukaha area.
Further recommend that the administration
expedite the acquisition of the properties
and contact the owners of the properties
to alleviate their concern

From Director of the Department of Liquor Control
dated March 7, 1972 informing that the Hawaii Liquor
Commission is opposed to HB 2096-72 which proposes
the transfer to the State the jurisdiction and power
of the county liquor commissions for the reasons listed,
and requests the concurrence of the Council in opposing
this bill:
Approve request and concur with
the Hawaii Liquor Commission' s
stand.
RECOMMENDATION
No. 1: GEOTHERMAL-AQUACULTURE PROJECT
Recommend support of the Geothermal-Aquaculture project,
as presented by the Deputy Director of the Dept. of
Research and Development.
