The following are the recommendations of the Planning, Economic
Development and Legislative Committee which were considered at its
meeting of August 17, 1972:
COMMUNICATIONS
A No. 1337.1: CHARTER REVIEW COMMITTEE
From the Ad Hoc Committee dated August 17, 1972,
submitting a report on the County Charter. Recommends
at this time that no revisions or amendments be made,
and that an interim Charter Commission be created to
study and review the present operations of the County
under the Charter and other areas for possible revision.
Accept the recommendation
of the Ad Hoc Committee.
,i, No. 2081: TAXICAB - RATE INCREASE
From Stanley A. Nakamae, Director of Finance, for the
County Transportation Commission dated August 1, 1972,
recommending the adoption of an ordinance bill to increase
the rates of fare that taxicabs can charge and revises
the fee for baggage conveyance.
Approve and recommend
adoption of Bill 915 on
first reading.

From Mauricio Valera, Jr. , Chairman of the Planning
Commission, dated August 4, 1972, recommending the
adoption of Hale Hooko Street as the name for the
roadway within the Hale Hooko Acres Subdivision.
Approve and recommend adoption
of Resolution No. 545.
No. 2086: STREET NAME - KUHIO VILLAGE SUBDIVISION_
From Mauricio Valera, Jr. , Chairman of the Planning
Commission, dated August 4, 1972, recommending the
adoption of Hale-Alii, Hiiaka, Kamamalu, Kamanawa,
Kauikeouli, Kekauluohi and Lunalilo Streets as the
names for the roadways within the Kuhio Village
Subdivision.
Approve and recommend adoption
of Resolution No. 546.
