The following are the recommendations of the Recreation Committee
which were considered at its meeting of December 11, 1973 :

No . 88.2 : LILIUOKALANI GARDENS EXPANSION
From Robert T. Fukuda, Parks & Recreation Director,
dated December 4, 1973, requesting Council authorization
to request the formal transfer of State lands (2.$ acres
located adjacent to and south of the former Isles
Restaurant site) to the County of Hawaii for the purpose
of expanding Liliuokalani Gardens.
If and when the transfer is effectuated, they will then
proceed with the construction of a restroom facility as
the first phase of the expansion program:
Approve request .
34$.3 : UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS SUBDIVISION PARK
From Robert M. Yamada, Council Chairman, dated
November 23, 1973, transmitting for information a copy
of letter from the Mayor to Mr. Sunao Kido, Chairman &
Member of the Board of Land and Natural Resources,
regarding the park in the University Heights area:

From Eulida L. Olds dated November 29, 1973, following
up on their letter of October 1, 1973 in regard to an
offer to the County to purchase their property for
park lands.

a- No. 594: TRANSFER OF STATE LANDS - LALAMILO, SOUTH KOHALA
From Robert T. Fukuda, Parks & Recreation Director,
dated December 4, 1973, requesting Council authorization
to pursue the formal transfer of State lands (775+ acres)
at Lalamilo, South Kohala.
It is located adjacent to and mauka of the Puako Beach
lots and is proposed to be developed into a major
recreational complex. A sum of $100,000 has been
appropriated for planning of this complex:
Approve request.
