Fukuda, Parks and Recreation Director, dated July 10, 1974, requesting the Council to rescind its previous action of February 21, 1973, regarding site selection and granting their department authori- zation to seek alternative park sites . This request is being made due to the high cost of the previously approved park site. Reaffirm the Council's action on C-38 and C-38.1/RC-4 on the site selection and request the Parks and Recreation Depart- ment to implement the project as expeditiously as possible. No. 88.5 : LILIUOKALANI GARDENS - COMFORT STATION/PICNIC SHELTERS Copy of letter to Mr. Sunao Kido, Chairman and Member, Board of Land & Natural Resources, from Mayor Bruce McCall, dated July 3, 1974, informing that to maximize the openness of the area on the north side of the roadway leading to the old dock, they will not be initiating the proposed shelter construction; however, feels that the much-needed comfort station should be constructed on a portion of parcel 8 of TMK: 2-1-03 as proposed in their letter of March 18, 1974. Fukuda, Parks & Recreation Director, dated July 11, 1974, informing that the Hawaiian Homes Commission on June 28, 1974, moved to turn over Kawananakoa Hall and the adjoining park to the County of Hawaii for maintenance and recreational purposes under a 21-year license and requests Council authoriza- tion to secure this license from the Department of Hawaiian Homes Lands as provided for under Section 207 of the Hawaiian Homes Act.
