Among, Hawaiian Homes Commission, dated October 10, 1974, submitting (1) Resolution 172 , regarding Kawananakoa Hall complex to be set aside for the County of Hawaii to administer, maintain and to provide recreational programs; and (2) Resolution 173, regarding the area of 6. 641 acres located at Panaewa (TMK: 2-2-59: 11) for the County of Hawaii to administer recreational programs. Receive and. file; and thank the Hawaiian Homes Commission for their action. • �y;t_ 6__ No. 895.2: SPEEDING IN KEAUKAHA AREA From Richard Y. Mitsumori, Traffic Engineer, dated October 16, 1974, informing that the Highway Safety ' Council at its meeting on October 8 accepted their recommendation to lower the speed limit from 45 mph to 35 mph on Kalanianaole Street from Kuhio Street to its terminus. The speed limit signs will be installed after an ordinance is adopted in lieu of the requested children and animal warning signs. Also comments on the bypass road in the area- of the Richardson property. Accept recommendation of the reduced speed limit and refer to Corporation Counsel to • prepare the proper amendment. No. Date: NOV 7_.1.974.,, • • RTC- 33 -2- October 30, 1974 No. 917: RECREATIONAL COMPLEX - NORTH KONA From Mr. & Mrs. Shigeo Kunitake dated July 22 , 1974, requesting support of the Kealakehe area for a County recreational complex and the old Kona airport site to be developed as a beach park by the State. 4, 6- No. 917.1: From Robert T. Fukuda, Parks & Recreation Director, dated September 10, 1974, informing that they will be initiating planning of a major recreational complex at Kealakehe which is intended to serve the West Hawaii area and will keep the Council informed to further developments in this area. Advises that their position on Kailua Park (former airport) has been expressed in the Kailua Park Development Plan which was recently approved in concept by the Council. No. 923.1: KAILUA PARK DEVELOPMENT PLAN Copy of letter to Mr. Sunao Kido, Chairman & Member, Board of Land & Natural Resources, from RTC Chairman dated August 30, 1974, requesting a reply on the State' s intent on the ultimate ownership of the 119.40 acres at the old Kona airport for implementation of the Kailua Park Development Plan. �No. 923.2: From Sunao Kido, Chairman & Member, Boad of Land & Natural Resources , dated September 30, 1974, responding to C-923. 1.
