The following are the recommendations of the Recreation and Transportation
Committee which were considered at its meeting of September 17, 1975:
COMMUNICATIONS
, C - No. 919.11: HAWAII COUNTY TRANSIT SYSTEM BUS ACQUISITION
(Res. 454) From Chief Engineer Edward Harada dated August 27, 1975,
submitting for adoption a resolution authorizing an
increase in the County's financial participation
from $174,197 to $177,042 for the purchase of transit
buses. The increase in cost is due to the higher bid
received for the small buses than was estimated.
Approve and recommend adoption
of Resolution 454.
No. 975.8: KUA BAY (C-975. 3, 975.4, RTC-44/REC. 1)
From Mayor Matayoshi dated August 20, 1975 informing
that the request for clarifications regarding Kua Bay
will be forthcoming shortly.

No. 1504.1: MOTORCYCLE ROAD RACES AT OLD KONA AIRPORT (C-1504/RTC-50)
Copy of letter to Parks & Recreation Director from
Earl T. Nakasato, Deputy Corporation Counsel, dated.
September 8, 1975, submitting as requested an Agreement
for the use of the Old Kona Airport facility by the
Big Island Motorcycle Association, Inc. , to hold a
series of races.

, c - No. 1547: OFFER OF PROPERTY - RICHARD SMART
From Parks & Recreation Director Milton Hakoda dated
September 10, 1975, recommending that the Council
accept the offer of Mr. Richard Smart of a 1.88 acre
parcel adjoining Waimea Park and informs that the
stipulation of relocation of the Waimea Youth Center
to adjoining Parker Ranch property at County expense
should not constitute a major drawback.
Accept offer of Mr. Richard Smart
and agree to relocate the Waimea
Youth Center to the adjoining Parker
Ranch property at County expense.

'Bill 162: ESTABLISHING A MASS TRANSPORTATION AGENCY
(C-1534) Amends Chapter 2 , Article 5, of the Hawaii County Code,
establishing a Mass Transportation Agency.
Approve and recommend adoption on
second and final reading.
