The following are the recommendations of the Recreation and Transportation
Committee which were considered at its meeting of December 9 , 1975 :
COMMUNICATIONS
No. 20. 25 : KAIMU BEACH
From RTC Chairman Dante K. Carpenter dated November 25 ,
1975 , transmitting for appropriate action a letter listing
the items which must be resolved before any action can
be taken on the Kaimu Beach Project.

/No. 1206.9 : HAWAII COUNTY TRANSIT SYSTEM - OPERATING REPORT
From RTC Chairman Dante K. Carpenter dated November 25 ,
1975 , transmitting for information the Operating Report
of the Hawaii County Transit System for October .

No. 1460. 5 : VOLCANO PARK ADVISORY COMMITTEE (�C-1460.4/RTC-55 )
From Parks and Recreation Director Milton T. Hakoda
dated November 21 , 1975 informing that after much
consideration, he feels that all four volunteers
- representing the retired segment should remain on the
advisory committee as the Volcano community does include
a large population of retirees and all four may not be
available at any given time.

c,c_ No. 1655 : SAMPAN BUSES
From Director of Finance Stanley A. Nakamae dated
December 4, 1975 informing that when the new buses were
to be placed into service in Hilo, the County promised
to purchase the franchises of sampan bus operators;
recommends approval of terms of the settlement so that
the transition from sampans to the "hele-on" buses can
be made without conflict.
Accept recommendation and approve
terms of settlement with sampan bus
operators.
ORDINANCE
Bill 192: BUS STOPS
Establishes bus stops necessary for the operation of the
County Mass Transit System.
