Matayoshi dated June 30,, 1976 transmitting for information a copy of the Hawaii County Mass Transportation Agency' s Systems Operating Report and statistics for the month of May 1976. Receive and file - 4o-'Nos 1890®l: KAMEHAMEHA- -AVENUE WAIANUENUE -AVENUE-BAYFRONT HIGHWAY INTERSECTION Copy of letter to E. Alvey Wright, Director, Department of Transportation, from Chief Engineer Edward Harada dated June 15 , 1976 informing that they are experiencing traffic • flow problems at the Kamehameha-Waianuenue intersection and there have been fatal accidents at the Wai anuenue- - Bayfront intersection. Therefore, they are preparing to revise the traffic flow at subject intersection by constructing a new "on ramp" from Kamehameha Avenue onto the Bayfront Highway and altering the present intersection - as an "off-ramp" only. Ask review of this suggestion and request State and Federal approval to implement this • proposal ; will begin design of project upon receipt of their approval. • Receive and file. Menor dated June 25 , 1976 informing that the Hawaii County Mass Transportation Agency is presently conducting a mail survey to determine whether the bus system is structured, in terms of scheduling to effectively meet the needs of the public. The schedule will be adjusted according to the results of the survey. They hope to complete the survey by the end of July, 1976 and will submit a report to the Committee. Receive and file. 'LC- No. 1915 : PEDESTRIAN WALKWAY - PAUAHI-KAMEHAMEHA INTERSECTION From Councilman Andrew C. Levin dated June 18, 1976 informing that he has been asked by people who walk and jog in the area of Pauahi-Kamehameha, especially those who want to get to the ocean front, canoe racing sites, etc. , to request that a pedestrian walkway be painted at that intersection going mauka-makai. No® 1919 : AMENDMENTS TO TRAFFIC CODE From Chief Engineer Edward Harada dated June 16 , 1976 recommending that a freight loading zone be established on the mauka side of Kamehameha Avenue, puna of Furneaux Lane by amending Article 14 of the Traffic Code. Informs that the affected businesses are in favor of this proposal. Accept recommendation and refer to Corporation Counsel to prepare the proper amendment. ORDINANCE Bill No. 235 : AMENDMENTS TO TRAFFIC CODE (C-1834/RTC-66) Amends Chapter 6 (Traffic Code) ,' Article 8, Hawaii County Code, as amended, relating to speed limits.
