4cc} C — 2147.1: From Planning Director dated November 9, 1972,
informing that his department would have no
objections to the proposed bus shelter. Suggests
that inquiries be made into the possibility of
seeking Federal funds for construction of bus

schedules should be investigated with the Department
of Research and Development in light of the
implementation of the transportation study and
program. Also recommends that bus shelter standards ,

From Chief Engineer dated November 27, 1972,
informing of their investigation of the Hawaii
Belt Road entrance. Feels that any major improve-
ments at this entrance is not warranted since the

From Chief Engineer dated December 1, 1972 , submitting
a report on the pros andcons of constructing an
overpass and underpass together with estimates of
cost.
Feels that the installation of traffic signal lights ,
warning lights, crosswalks , or use of J.P.O. ' s will
not provide the depth of protection necessary.
Recommends the construction of an overpass ($85,000-
S90,000) although it is costlier than an underpass
($60,000-$65,000) .
Refer to the 1973-74 CIP budget
