The following is the recommendation of the Public Works
Committee which was considered at its meeting of January 11, 1973:
COMMUNICATION
No. 72: CROSS-ISLAND HIGHWAY
From Council Chairman Yamada dated January 9, 1973 ,
transmitting for appropriate attention and
disposition, a copy of a letter from Councilman
Kawahara to State Representative Jack Suwa dated
January 4, 1973, regarding the development of a
cross-island highway and requesting the State's
implementation at the earliest possible date of a
cut-off route from Pohakuloa to Highway 19 at the
Kaupulehu lava flow near Puuwaawaa.
