The following are the recommendations of the Public Works
Committee which were considered at its meeting of March 29, 1973:
COMMUNICATIONS
'No. 54: IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT - WILDER ROAD
From County Clerk dated December 28, 1972 , transmitting
a petition by Gentry-Hawaii, Ltd. , and Hawaiiana Land
Company requesting the creation of a 100 percent improve-
ment district in Kaumana, South Hilo (Wilder Road) .
54.1: From Gentry-Hawaiiana Joint Venture submitting an amend-
ment to their petition.
4i- 54.2: From Chief Engineer Edward Harada dated March 29, 1973 ,
informing that the petition meets the 100 percent require-
ment of Section 3.4 of Ordinance 350, as amended, and
transmits for adoption Resolution 47 calling for the sub-
mittal of the preliminary report:
Approve and recommend adoption
of Resolution 47.
4w No. 200: BUS SHELTER FOR NAALEHU
From Thomas Higa, Principal, Naalehu School, dated March
13 , 1973 , informing that he personally feels that the bus
problem can be resolved by re-establishing pick up points
for the Kau High students. If this cannot be done, he
would favor with reservations the construction of bus
shelters for the Naalehu youngsters attending Kau High
School.
Concur with the suggestion of the
Principal of Naalehu School.

�No. 205: WATER SYSTEM - HONOMALINO AREA, SOUTH KONA
From Governor John A. Burns dated March 20, 1973,

thanking the Council for Resolution 25 regarding g the
lack of an adequate water system for the people of the
Honomalino area, South Kona, and the need for drilling
of an exploratory well to determinethe quality and
availability of ground water. Assures that the State is
ready to cooperate with Hawaii County in implementing
the project should funds be appropriated by the
Legislature.

No. 206: ANIMAL POUND FACILITIES
From Council Chairman Robert M. Yamada dated March 20 ,
1973, transmitting for perusal a copy of the agreement
by and between the County of Hawaii and the Hawaii Island
Humane Society for the Animal Pound facilities.

�No. 210: FEDERAL WATER POLLUTION CONTROL ACT
From Mary W. Earl dated March 21, 1973, complimenting
the stand that the Councilmen took at the workshop on
the Federal Water Pollution Control Act.

Bill 976: KAMEHAMEHA PARK ROAD WIDENING AND PAVING
An ordinance increasing the appropriation of Account
No. C-33602 , Kamehameha Park Road Widening and Paving,
by the sum of $30,000 from the Fund Balance in the
Bond Fund.
