The following are the recommendations of the Public Works
Committee which were considered at its meeting of November 14,
1973 :
COMMUNICATIONS
A-e` No. 54.9: IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT 15
(Res. 147) WILDER ROAD IMPROVEMENT
(Bill 1022) From Stanley A. Nakamae, Director of Finance, dated
November 9, 1973, submitting for action the following:
1. A resolution designating the Bank of Hawaii as
co-paying agent for principal and interest on
the improvement district bonds.
2. An ordinance bill amending Ordinance 606 by
changing the language with respect to the rate
of interest on assessments from a fixed rate of
$ percent per annum to a rate equal to the
interest rate payable on the bonds but not to
exceed 8 percent per annum:
Approve and recommend (1) adoption
of Resolution 147 ; and (2) passage
of Bill 1022 on first reading.

(Res. 142) KAHALUU-KEAUHOU, KONA
From Stanley A. Nakamae, Director of Finance, dated
October 31, 1973, informing that they have sufficient
funds to redeem Bond Nos. 39 to 42, inclusive, and
submits Resolution 142 to authorize the Director of
Finance to call for payment of these bonds in
accordance with Section 5 .5 of Ordinance No. 350:
Approve and recommend adoption of
Resolution 142 .

the installation of 25 newspaper delivery boxes on
Nanawale Boulevard, a County highway, as home delivery
is not feasible at this time:

From Bruce McCall, Managing Director, dated November 13,
1973, submitting a letter from Mrs. Jeanne B. Caldwell
requesting permission for the Hilo Swimming Club to
conduct a sidewalk sale on November 30, December 1 and $,
1973, at the following places: Haili/Keawe, Haili/
Kamehameha, and Kamehameha Avenue in front of Kress
Store:
Approve request, subject to conditions
as contained in Ordinance 51.
