No. 206 .3 : ANIMAL POUND ` 4 From Mayor Shunichi Kimura dated November 16, 1973, trans- mitting the following: a. A copy of Bill 955 Relating to Animal Pounds containing recommended amendments. b. An estimated budget of the Hawaii Island Humane Society for the balance of the 1973-74 fiscal year and for 1974-75 fiscal year. c . Some statistics and a graph indicating ' the increase in pound activity. d . A proposal initially submitted in June, 1973 . Requests early consideration and adoption of Bill 955 in order that the transfer of the pound functions can be made as of January 1, 1974. Urgency is based on the scheduled completion of the Humane Society's Animal Shelter in December and on the need for staffing at the recently completed Panaewa Equestrian Center and the County Zoo . The two Dog Wardens presently assigned to the Pound will be assigned to the Zoo and Equestrian Center: Approve and recommend passage of.
