The following are the recommendations of the Public Works
Committee which were considered at its meeting of May 29, 1974:
COMMUNICATIONS
Oee C- No . 628.1: AMENDMENT TO ELECTRICAL CODE
(Bill 49 ) From Edward Harada, Chief Engineer, dated May 21, 1974,
submitting for adoption a bill to amend the Electrical
Code, 1971 Edition, regarding the effective date for
the requirement of ground fault protection on construc-
tion sites . This amendment will be in effect until such
time when OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Adminis-
tration) and the National Fire Protection Association,
publisher of the National Electrical Code, comes up with
definite recommendations:
Approve and recommend passage of
Bill 49 on first reading.
C- No . $40: LANIPUNA GARDENS, INCREMENT I, PUNA
From Clifford H. F. Lum, Corporation Counsel, dated
May 9, 1974, recommending acceptance of the dedication
deed from Tokyu Land Development (Hawaii) , Inc . ,
dedicating the roadways in the Lanipuna Gardens Subdivi-
sion, Increment I, and submits approval of the Department
of Public Works: .
Accept dedication deed .

From E. Alvey Wright, Director, State Department of
Transportation, dated May 17, 1974, notifying that they
have scheduled a public informational meeting on the
subject project on Thursday, June 6, 1974, 7 :30 p.m. at
the Yano Memorial Hall, Captain Cook, Kona:
