Paul, Acting Chief of Police, dated August 22, 1974, submitting information on what is being done with regard to vehicular noise pollution. 911.2 : From Chas L. Schuster, District Engineer, State Highways Division, dated August 26, 1974, reporting on the flooding in the vicinity of Kamehameha-Kanoelehua Avenues inter- section: Receive and file; and transmit copies of C-911.1 and C-911.2 to Mr. Loo for his information. 4 .a 4No . 91$: HAWAII ISLAND HUMANE SOCIETY From M. Austen dated July 25, 1974, questioning whether it is essential, necessary or desirable for the Director of the HIHS to have a house with the added expense of over- time pay, utilities, and maintenance . Suggests that an additional animal warden be hired to be on duty between the hours of 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. to relieve the police department of this work: Receive and file. Yamada dated September 5, 1974, recommending that the PWC look into the feasibility of a major highway system to shorten the distance between West Hawaii and East Hawaii using the Saddle Road as the basic road system to be improved upon: Receive and file. • • PWC-39 - 4 - Sept . 1$, 1974 A48-10. 9$7 : TRAFFIC BY-PASS ROUTE FROM ALII DRIVE TO KUAKINI HIGHWAY From George Brenner, President, Kona Chamber of Commerce, and Frank Zuzak, Chairman, Kailua District Committee, dated September 9, 1974, urging the Council to expedite planning and construction of the traffic by-pass route from Alii Drive to Kuakini Highway projected for the general area mauka of Huggo's restaurant : Receive and file; and refer to Chief Engineer to inform writers of the progress of the project .
