The following are the recommendations of the Public Works
Committee which were considered at its meeting of November 13, 1974:
COMMUNICATIONS
�No . 937.1: NATIONAL FLOOD INSURANCE PROGRAM
From Arthur W. Martin, Chairman, Planning Commission,
dated September 27, 1974, informing that after a duly
held public hearing on September 25, 1974, the
Commission voted to recommend for approval. Bills 66
and 6$. The purpose of the amendments would be in
compliance with the requirements stipulated by the
Federal Insurance Administration under the National
Flood Insurance Program:

Act- C-- No. 1032: ABANDONMENT RESOLUTION AND QUITCLAIM DEED FOR A
(Res. 294) PORTION OF OLD KAILUA-KEAUHOU MIDDLE ROAD
From Edward Harada, Chief Engineer, dated October 16,
1974, submitting the quitclaim deed and an abandonment
resolution for the subject road for approval and
authorization for execution of the deed by the Mayor.
The documents have been reviewed and approved by the
Corporation Counsel's Office :
Approve and recommend adoption of
Resolution 294 to abandon a portion
of the Old Kailua-Keauhou Middle
Road ; and grant authorization to.
the Mayor to execute the quitclaim
deed .

Bill 65 : Amends Ordinance 501 (Building Code) adopted on
(Amended ) July 26, 1972, establishing procedures to be followed
in the design of buildings or structures in SF zoned
areas identified as being subject to inundation by
rain water or sea water, or both, and repealing all
sections and parts._. of sections of ordinances of the
County of Hawaii in conflict therewith:

Bill 65, as amended, on second and
final reading.
Bill 66 : Amends Chapter $ (Zoning Code) , Article 17, Hawaii
,„` (Amended ) County Code, as amended, establishing a flood hazard
district designation (SF) and stipulating conditions
for construction in said flood hazard district and
repealing all sections and parts of sections of
ordinances of the County of Hawaii in conflict there-
with:

on July 26, 1972, specifying provisions to be made in

being subject to inundation by rain water or sea water,
or both, and repealing all sections and parts of
sections of ordinances of the County of Hawaii in
conflict therewith :
