JMtV OfM. <br /> 6.1••,;- 4 1i•• <br /> • NzCOUNTY OF HAWAII -•• "=-�' /�• <br /> STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. %9 17 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO MALAMA 0 PUNA TO <br /> ASSIST WITH THE KEAU`OHANA FOREST RESERVE RESTORATION PROJECT. <br /> WHEREAS, Malama 0 Puna is a 501(c)(3) local nonprofit whose purpose is to assure <br /> critical habitat for native species and open space for future generations; and <br /> WHEREAS, Malama 0 Puna has implemented a forest restoration program at the <br /> Keau`ohana Forest Reserve, the largest and most intact native lowland (<1,000 feet) wet forest <br /> remaining in the State; and <br /> WHEREAS, Malama 0 Puna has treated and replanted over 35 acres of the Keau`ohana <br /> Forest Reserve using Contingency Relief funds ($3,850) awarded in 2014 from Council District 4; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Malama 0 Puna is requesting additional Contingency Relief funds to <br /> continue the important restoration work at the Keau`ohana Forest Reserve; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, <br /> service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to Malama 0 Puna to assist with the Keau`ohana <br /> Forest Reserve restoration project. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
