7No. 1483.2: KEAAU-_TRANSFER STATION ANIMAL DISPOSAL (C-1483/PWC-58)
From Mayor Matayoshi dated September 4, 1975, informing
that the Keaau Transfer Station is geared to handle
only household refuse; therefore, proper dead animal
disposal cannot be maintained without enor'inous
additional cost and problems. Lists items which make
dead animal disposal at Keaau Transfer Station
unfeasible and feels that the County would realize
greater savings if the Humane Society continues the
operation of disposing its dead animals at the South
Hilo Landfill, instead of creating another animal
disposal site at Keaau.

DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT

tation, dated September 10, 1975, transmitting on
behalf of the Federal Highway Administration, a copy
of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for
the subject project and requests written comments
before October 31, 1975.

, , c - No. 1550: BUILDING CODE - FIRE WARNING SYSTEM
(Bill 167) From Councilman Fujii dated September 11, 1975, submitting
a bill to delete Section 1413 of the Bi lding Code
pertaining to fire warning system.
Approve and recommend passage of
Bill 167 on first reading.

Kawahara)
Pet. 18: PARKING STALLS FOR JETFOIL OPERATIONS
Petition requesting appropriate action in protecting
the Village of Kailua by requiring provisions be
made for creation of additional vehicular parking
stalls to meet the needs of the Seaflite jetfoil
operation to avoid undue pressure being placed on
existing parking facilities and to accommodate the
development and growth of Seaflite operations as use
of the transportation and visitor attraction facility
expands and gains momentum in the future.

Pet. 18.2: From Planning Director Raymond Suefuji dated
August 22, 1975, informing that the Planning Commission,
at its meeting of July 31, 1975, voted to approve
the variance of Pacific Sea Transportation, Ltd. and
Richard Kimi for the reduction of the required parking
stalls.

ORDINANCES
'Bill 160: PLUMBING CODE
(C-1527) Amends Chapter 13, Plumbing Code of the Hawaii County
Code, relating to the adoption of the 1973 edition
of the International Association of Plumbing and
Mechanical Officals Uniform Plumbing Code, and
amendments thereto.
Approve and recommend adoption on
second and final reading.
