DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT
From Ralph T. Segawa, Division Administrator,
U.S. Dept. of Transportation, Federal Highway Admi-
nistration, dated March 8, 1976, transmitting the
Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the pro-
posed realignment and widening of 3.1 miles of
Kuakini Highway from Palani Road to the Kealakowaa
Heiau in North Kona and requests written comments
prior to May 3 , 1976.
Recommend Council support
Line 1 of the proposed
project.

From Mayor Matayoshi dated March 23, 1976 advising
that he will take under advisement the request
that the administration appoint an ad hoc commit-
tee to comply with the intent of HR 9 and shall
respond shortly.

(Res. 563) REMNANT OF FORMER PIOPIO STREET IN HILO
From Chief Engineer Edward Harada dated March 22, 1976,
submitting the quitclaim deed and an abandonment
resolution for the subject street for consideration,
approval and authorization for execution of the deed
by the Mayor.
Approve and recommend adoption
of Resolution 563 ; and grant
authorization to the Mayor to
execute the quitclaim deed.
No. 1811: DRIVEWAY INTO KEIKILAND
bad, From Mayor Matayoshi dated March 31, 1976 informing
that the driveway is included in the Keikiland par-
cel covered by Executive Order No. 2230 to the
County of Hawaii for playground and park purposes;
the cost of paving the driveway and approximately
20 parking stalls is estimated to be $8,000.
Approve immediate implemen-
tation of the project and
refer to Finance Director
for funding.
