HomeMy WebLinkAboutREP PWC 077 06/09/1976 1972-1976 PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE Report No. 77 • Hawaii County Council " Hilo, Hawaii ' The following are the recommendations of the Public Works Committee which were considered at its meeting of June 9, 1976: • COMMUNICATIONS No. 1647. 3: HAWAIIAN BEACHES WATER SYSTEM From Andrew Loo dated February 15, 1976, submitting comments on the water system at Hawaiian Beaches and Puna subdivisions. 1647.4: Copy of letter to Andrew Loo from Mayor Matayoshi dated March 11, 1976, transmitting copy of letter dated January 5, 1976, to PWC Chairman stating the facts and other pertinent data regarding the Hawaiian. Beaches Water System and why the system is in the state it is today; also answers categorically the points brought up in his letter. Receive ,and file. A,c_ No. 1868. 1: HAWAIIAN ACRES SUBDIVISION, ROAD "A" (OLD VOLCANO TRAIL) From James Matsumoto dated May 28, 1976, pointing out that there is no access into Hawaiian Acres except through Road A (South Kulani Road to Road 1 and Kuauli Road to Roads 8 and 9) and all what the residents of the area want is a road that they can travel safely, not a County standard highway. Refer to administration to request the State Department of Land and Natural Resources for the right-of- way for Road A (South Kulani Road to Road 1 and Kuauli Road to Roads 8 . and 9) so that the County can improve the roadway to a safe and passable condition. Accept dedication deed. 1'et. 26. 2: ELECTRICITY TO PAPA HOMESTEADS From Ted Gomes dated April 28 , 1976, explaining the plight of residents of Papa Homesteads to have Helco provide electricity to the area.
