The following are the recommendations of the Finance Committee
which were considered at its meeting of October 9, 1973 :
COMMUNICATIONS
/No. 515 : NET FUNDED DEBT OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
From Stanley A. Nakamae, Director of Finance, dated
September 25, 1973, submitting for concurrence a
tabular summary (with supporting schedules) of the
net funded debt of the County of Hawaii as of
July 1, 1973 :
v 517: NET TAXABLE VALUATION OF REAL PROPERTY WITHIN THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII
From Ralph W. Kondo, Director of Taxation, dated
October 4, 1973, submitting his certificate showing
the net taxable valuation of real property within
the County of Hawaii . This certificate is furnished
in connection with the setting of the real property
tax rates for the County of Hawaii for the tax year
beginning July 1, 1973 :
v- 517.1: From Mayor Shunichi Kimura dated October 9, 1973,
transmitting for consideration a resolution setting
the real property tax rates for the fiscal year
1973-74.
In spite of the shortage of 51.3 million in revenues
from real property taxes, recommends that the present
average tax rate of $17.90 per S1,000 of assessed
valuation be retained :
The Committee recommends receiving
and filing the communications.

Determining the Real Property Tax Rates for the
County of Hawaii for the fiscal year July 1, 1973,
to June 30, 1974:

The Committee recommends passage
on first reading .
The Committee further recommends
that the County Council hold a
public hearing on the real property
tax rate for the fiscal year 1973-74
in the County Councilroom on
October 23, 1973, at 7:30 p.m.
